A wide angle lens is a lens that covers a large field of view. This is achieved by the short focal length of the lens. The smaller the focal length, the wider the angle of view will be. Ultra wide angle (UWA) lenses have a focal length of less than 21mm. This enables the photographer to get close to the subject and still capture all of it. UWA lenses usually create distortion which can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on the subject being photographed.
In the hands of a skilled photographer, some beautiful shots can be achieved using a UWA lens. Here we have selected 45 such captures for your viewing pleasure.
