I would love to win because I am thinking of migrating my current ecommerce shop to a standalone shop. Shopify is local to where I live (Ottawa) and I would love to use a local company!

I've been on a fixed budget with a small income from my handcrafted home and personal fragrances business and selling off old clothes. I've been wanting to move my shop online but hate etsy and have been trying to figure out how to fit a website into my budget. I've been lurking around the shopify site for months thinking... if I can maybe do a custom perfume this month...maybe if my vintage doc martens (which I've been meaning to sell for the past 4 years, but love alot) sell for a good price I could do it, but things haven't come to fruition. I would use this to sell my perfumes, candles, potpourris, and body oils online with more an online presence and more sales I may be able to expand my line to products that have been swimming in my mind and possibly launch an affordable custom fragrance service. Winning this could change my life in the matter of a year!

I would love to use Shopify to give my existing ecommerce store a much needed facelift and extra functionality.

Everything we sell is custom designed either by myself or other talented artists that we've sourced. We sell everything from T-Shirts, sweatbands, stickers and even skateboards!

The combination of template designs, as well as giving you the flexibility to edit and use your own HTML and CSS would be fantastic, not to mention the other Shopify add ons, my favourite of which is the ability to mould your online store into your very own app!

This is something I've been wanting to do for ages, but without Shopify I wouldn't have the resources.

Shopify is a good start for every SMB owner and if I win I would use it to make complete website for review of mobile phones + online store where the users could get all the information categorized and easy to find the product that they are looking for.

Should I be so lucky, I (in partnership with a dear friend) would use this awesome opportunity to finally start selling unique, hand-crafted, Greenlandic art. There's a enormous amount of traditional inuit handicrafts available in my home town. Besides that, Greenlandic artists are doing more and more untraditional artwork such as print design, full feature movies, fashion clothing, photography and even gold jewelry crafted from Greenlandic gold, such as the wedding ringes worn by Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

My friend and I've been talking about this for a long time as we both believe there's a market outside of Greenland for all this. Local shops who sell these crafts are not interested in expanding online because they make a decent living selling the art as souvenirs to tourists.
But we'd love for the rest of the world, who is not lucky enough to have the resources to come visit us (due to Greenland's remoteness, extreme environment and low population it's very expensive to travel here), to have the opportunity to own their own piece of Greenlandic heritage.

Who wouldn't want to own sustainable* and beautiful art, that has it's very own inspiring story?

*Sustainable: When Greenlandic people says this, we >really< mean it! All handicraft made from bones, etc., comes from only animals we hunt to eat, animals that have lived their lives free in nature. No predation! Artists personally know the hunter(s) and sustainability runs deep in our culture. Greenland is the least densely populated country in the world. A few handicrafts are illegal to export and we will not sell any of these.
