Wow... this are really nice. Great source of inspiration. Thank you!
Some great examples here. When using pictures of animals (especially cute or cartoon images), it's very easy to let your site drift away from professionalism. These sites have succeeded in maintaining the necessary standard, IMO.
These are pretty good but you forgot the most famous one ... Twitter :-D
Cant get enough of Mailchimp!
Really like the ones form Designzillas as it's integrated about ten times on their website.
Branded07 got a cute animal mascot.
I second Adam on missing out twitter from the list.
How about http://www.webMunky.com? :)
LOVE the designzillas mascot!
I don't know about you guys but I like the llamas on StillPointe's site. There's just something funny about a llama.
I was looking around for animal inspiration in design for my company and game across this post. Thanks so much, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Love this list. I also like the fat pudding cat

Nice selection indeed. But, in my opinion, some design examples are depressive. I would never use such animal images for a logo of my company. But of course there are lots of worthy and adequate variants, too.
Great collection, I like the design of http://www.mailchimp.com/ it's so funny.
Very nice selection, i really like the cornerd monsters
I think having a site mascot is a great idea. You are able to incorporate it into your logo as well as having them as a quirky feature on the rest of your site. I agree with Pragmatic Design in that they don't go over the top with the design just because there is a mascot on the site, however, not all sites have to be entirely professional and clean; it all depends on the business and your audience. These mascots are used on sites where the audience are more likely to appreciate the style and in some cases wittiness of the mascots.
You should look at my school mascot, unique like you never seen before, google "Frenkel" and see the mascot, never seen more beautiful than that.
Good design going on here. Props for posting. I have been looking for ideas for a new site and I think I found them! Thanks.
