"If you touch my brushes, I'll have you arrested."

And that's when things got nuts. All I needed our IT guy to do was fix a minor glitch with my keyboard, but apparently by filling out a trouble ticket I had agreed to submit my laptop to a full security scan and possible reformatting.

When he described the procedure that he would be performing on my laptop, it became clear that he intended to impose himself on my harddrive in a manner I was uncomfortable with.

"Ok, but if you touch my Photoshop brushes, I'll have you arrested," I said.

At that point, he indicated that a supervisor would need to be present based on my comments and a VP was summoned. After a great deal of combative conversation, I finally decided I would live with a couple of keys getting stuck on my board from time to time rather than have my creative liberties totally defiled.

But, on my way out of the Theory Building (oh, that's what the IT guys call their office ... Theory ... as in, "Everything works in Theory") I was approached and told that by creating a trouble ticket and beginning the process that I could not leave the building without completing the ticket or facing a fine.

Long story short, they confiscated my laptop and now I'm stuck with this Dell Inspiron 1545 I found holding open a door in the legal department.

Worst of all, I lost all my Brushes. Please help.
