10 Free Usability Testing Accounts From IntuitionHQ

If you are a web designer, you are sure to have been hearing all about the growth of usability testing, user interface design and user experience design.

As designers, we all want to make the best designs we possibly can - making them attractive, usable, fun and fresh. After all, the better the website works, the more effective it is for us and our clients, and the better our business will be in the future. To learn more about it, you can read more on our previous article - A/B Testing: Usability From A to B

10 Free Usability Testing Accounts From IntuitionHQ

Today we are happy to give you the key to one of these elements - usability testing. IntuitionHQ.com is happy to give away 10 free tests on their online usability testing service so you too can carve out your own little slice of usability heaven.

About IntuitionHQ

IntuitionHQ is a remote usability testing service that enables you to quickly and easily run tests on your designs. You can test wireframes, sketches, final designs, or even do brief surveys.

About IntuitionHQ

IntuitionHQ also offers A/B testing so you can run two designs against each other and compare them side by side. This can come in handy in a lot of different situations - when redesigning sites, when testing different ideas against each other, or in those painful moments when at the end of a project the client’s big boss comes along with a new sketch in his hand with his version of a new design. A little A/B testing will soon show you what's what.

Results

With IntuitionHQ you just upload a screenshot, sketch or wireframe, set some tasks, and send out the test. Sending out the test is very simple - it's just a link that you can put on your facebook page, twitter feed, or any other place you see fit. Easy.

Test Interface

We've found this testing process is a really good way to get people involved without getting them over-involved.

You can take a sample test here to get an idea of what we are talking about. Testing normally just takes a few minutes, and it means people are kept in the design loop without under- or over-involving them. Beautiful.

New Project

As you can see in the above screenshot or in these sample results, it tells you how long it took someone to fulfill a task, and shows you where they clicked. With this information, you can quickly see what is or isn't working, and tweak your designs. It's that simple.

Cool. Even the demo had me thinking about my own sites.

Having co-designed and written a few sites for friends and some commerce, I feel I never get the feedback that truly helps us move forward for a re-design or even how to make the next site better.

  • Wayne

  • http://www.studioplexstudios.com Jon Garcia

This looks like a great quick alternative to the expensive UI group one of our clients prefers to use. Not saying they're bad but just not cost effective for all projects.

Right now I'm working on improving our 3 of our corporate websites as well as 2 social network sites for clients. This would greatly help in improving my skill as well as convince my clients a particular design works better.

Regardless of contest, this still looks like a viable solution. Great post!

  • Megan

This looks like a very good tool for remote testing. Having time to completion for task and the click map is very helpful. It would work much better than the virtual meeting software we are using right now. It would be less time and effort and much more simple. I think great results can come from a program like this. I would love to try it out. Thanks so much.

  • Alexey
