There certainly were some ads I will not forget, although sometimes I had a bit of a problem reading. Well, the images were meant for younger eyes.
Lets hope they are bigger in real life. Some of the elderly are also shoppers.

Is that all you noticed about the Fiat Panda ad? If it's promoting SUVs as a way of escaping, maybe there should be some notice to the way that gas guzzlers like that are a large contributor to our lack of animals in the city!

I somehow do not think the verbal abuse ad (the one with the arm coming out of the mouth) was suppose to be funny, as domestic violence is a somewhat serious matter. But if people think its funny, then the ad fails.

I am disappointed you deemed several offensively objectifying ads as "humorous". I am sick of seeing women's bodies used to sell things, and when you praise such advertisements you are only adding to the problem. People wonder why our society is filled with insecure women, confused men, sexism, disproportionate numbers of sexual assault against women and unhealthy attitudes about sex.

If you disagree that such ads are offensive, then think about this: when have you EVER seen a man presented as a sexual object in an ad in a way that wasn't supposed to be humorous or ironic? The only ads I can think of are a select few underwear ads. I certainly don't see hot man-on-man action being used to sell cameras, pop and dog food.

I would kindly ask you to review your own attitudes about sex and women, and to review the following ads after: Numbers 4, 8, 13, 32, 37 and 44.

      So because some women have taken a bad situation (sexual oppression and discrimination) and turned in into somewhat of a good thing (that powerful feeling of controlling men via a woman's body) than we should all "shut up" and stop fighting for equality? You realize the only reason you can feel sexy and empowered by showing off your body is because you live in a society that values nothing about women EXCEPT their body... and this society rewards women for following its norms by convincing them that it feels good to be sexualized.
      
      (Also, yes, I DO get upset at overly-sexualized images of men.. except... they are so rarely seen. Dehumanization will always be wrong, no matter which gender it affects.)
      
      So, why don't YOU "shut the hell up" and continue living in your retarded little fantasy world, being silently oppressed and discriminated against, never questioning the unwritten rules of society just like everyone else... while the people who DO dare to dream of a better world will keep trying to make it happen. One baby step at a time.
      
      These ads ARE offensive, demeaning and are one of the flood of images that contribute to the sorry state of society - for men and women alike. Apparently though you don't care enough about the wellbeing of millions of men and women enough to question your worldviews.

I would like to add some information to the Playstation PSP ad. The picture was taken in Madrid, Spain, in Calle Arenal. The funny thing about it is that the guy in the picture is usually around, as a living statue. He's been doing this for so many years that he's practically an icon of the city.

May I use the advertisements for Autofocus Olympus, Affair Che Magazine, Sea Omax Lenses, Nikon S60, Jade Post-It, and Pool Purina Puppy Chow for a presentation in my Language and Gender class?
